Greek Salad Recipe (Horiatiki Salata)


Here's the recipe for Horiatiki, also known as Greek Salad:


Ingredients:

4 ripe tomatoes, cut into wedges

1 cucumber, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 red onion, thinly sliced

200 grams of feta cheese, crumbled

A handful of Kalamata olives

2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil

1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar

1 teaspoon of dried oregano

Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions:

In a large salad bowl, combine the tomato wedges, cucumber slices, bell pepper slices, and red onion.


Add the crumbled feta cheese and Kalamata olives to the bowl.


In a small bowl, whisk together the extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.


Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine.


Let the salad sit for about 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.


Serve the Horiatiki salad as a side dish or as a light and refreshing main course.
