"Kung Pao Tofu" Recipe for vegans :


Ingredients:

1 block of firm tofu (450 g)

2 tablespoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced

1/4 cup scallions, thinly sliced

1/4 cup peanuts


Instructions:

Cut the tofu into cubes and mix with cornstarch, water, and a pinch of salt.

Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the tofu to the pan and fry until golden brown on all sides.

In a separate bowl, mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and salt to make the sauce. Set the sauce aside.

Using the remaining oil in the pan, sauté the garlic and scallions until fragrant.

Add the sauce to the pan and stir until it thickens.

Add the fried tofu to the pan and coat with the sauce.

Add peanuts to the pan and stir to combine.

Serve hot with rice. Enjoy!
