Suvlaki Recipe

 


Here's the recipe for Souvlaki:


Ingredients:


500 grams of boneless meat (chicken, pork, or lamb), cut into cubes

4-6 pita breads

For the marinade:


1/4 cup olive oil

1/4 cup lemon juice

2 cloves of garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste


For serving:

Tzatziki sauce

Sliced tomatoes

Sliced onions

Lettuce leaves


Instructions:

In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper to prepare the marinade.


Add the meat cubes to the marinade and toss to coat. Let the meat marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight for maximum flavor.


Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.


Thread the marinated meat cubes onto skewers.


Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked through and slightly charred.


While the meat is grilling, warm the pita breads on the grill or in the oven.


Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.


To assemble the Souvlaki, place a few pieces of grilled meat on a warm pita bread. Top with Tzatziki sauce, sliced tomatoes, sliced onions, and lettuce leaves.


Roll up the pita bread tightly and secure with aluminum foil or parchment paper.


Serve the Souvlaki wraps warm and enjoy!


Note: Souvlaki can be customized with additional toppings such as feta cheese, sliced cucumbers, or hot sauce, according to personal preference.
